Vogue Italia 2003
Steven Meisel photographed Jessica Stam for this Vogue Italia editorial in 2003. Set in a particularly lavishly-kitsch palatial residence this editorial has always piqued my interest. The abundance of gaudy, over-scaled and tasteless 'palatial-themed' interiors flaunting garish kitsch-neo-classical furniture, form a mind-boggling and brilliant backdrop to Stam's vacuously complacent stare. I also Particularly like the presence of the enormous large-screen Cathode ray tube televisions in amongst the golden, unrestrictedly ornate and flamboyant kitsch-rococo decor.
